It’s time to get excited for the MNM 2016 Season. Club sign up is open on the SQ website or in person at the first club round on Sunday 31JAN16. (MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE TEAM APP, FACEBOOK ECT FOR NEW STARTING TIMES)
AGM last Friday night, very poor attendance as far as club membership numbers go. However, those that did attend provided some great ideas and support for 2016. Big thanks to those that attended.
Selection of COMMITTEE positions was not conducted at the AGM. All current position holders will continue to act in the interim. A special meeting will be conducted in the near future to confirm all existing and some additional positions.
ADDITIONAL COMMITTEE POSITIONS for 2016. It is anticipated that several new committee positions will be created for 2016. We would like to create some new positions to assist in the workload and to nurture the next generation of club officials as to secure the clubs future.
Please have a look at the following positions and consider all possibilities in assisting. It is essential that the new roles are fulfilled. Most positions will not be time all consuming, all it takes is a little communication and commitment. If time is a problem, please consider approaching other members to share the responsibility/s.
Shadow Treasurer (Kenny’s side kick – attend the occasional meeting, be kept in the email loop and get an understanding of how the clubs administration and finances are conducted)
Shadow Secretary (Cam’s side kick - attend the occasional meeting, be kept in the email loop and get an understanding of how the clubs, business, administration and future is planned)
Assistant Club Coach (Any aspiring or current accredited surf coaches can communicate with Gibbo and assist with current and future coaching of the clubs up and coming crop of surfers)
Assistant/s Club Round Coordinator (Texas Baz is doing a great job. Robbo has signed up as his side kick for this season but both would benefit from anyone who would like to help)
Code Clash Organiser/s – (We need a person or team to take on the responsibilities to make the once a year event grow in success. The foundations are already there).
Critter Comp Organiser/s – (We need a person or team to take on the responsibilities to make the once a year event grow in success. The foundations are already there. Special bonus with this job, you get to work with Wolfie).
Representative Team Manager/s (This position will be best fulfilled by at least 2 people, a Junior rep and an Open rep - Requires team selections, on the day team management and transport of club tent etc to the events. Possibly 3 – 4 events for the year).
Club BBQ – (MNM have been blessed with an offer from Rhys & Maree Curtis to taker on this year’s responsibilities for club round and special event BBQ’s. This responsibility is extremely important to the clubs funding. Please consider lending some assistance to cooking, cleaning, serving etc at one or as many BBQ’s as you can. Touch base with Rhys and/or Maree to see what you can assist in)
And ………….. Social Organiser/s (The club would like to reintroduce this responsibility. Something the 2015 season lacked was a few well organised get togethers. Purpose being to build friendships, if we make any money out of them, it’s a bonus).
