Here are some of our Vice President's thoughts about the second comp of the year:
Just a few things that need to be said about our 2nd comp this year, it’s amazing how an ordinary morning surf can shape up into a great day of surfing, with waves consistently in the 2-3 ft range. We saw what turned out to be one of the best competitive surf comps we have had in several years.
No big wind, a bank that just kept producing all day long in front of the deck from hell and a big turn up from the crew. We had four heats of juniors, four heats of opens , three cadets, two over forty’s and fifty’s, single banked all day with no deterioration in the waves. What a day! Leading to a “GREAT” finale in all rounds, none less than the 6 man open finals where there was only a matter of .2 to .5 difference in all judges over first four positions. The most exciting final we have witnessed In years.
Congrates to all comp contenders well done.
The LK Code Clash has had to be postponed for a couple of months due to some factors out of the Club's control.
The Good news is we are receiving great support from Gold Coast City Council to help make our event the biggest it's ever been!! When we run it....
Stay tuned as we should have a new date for the comp in the coming weeks.
