A disappointing run of heat results at last weekends Straddie Assault sent the MNM team home with their tails between their legs. Conditions were unfavourable with a tiny 1ft shore break offering little opportunity for the team to show their talent. Needless to say, we can only go up from here next year.
On a different note, the trip offered up a great social opportunity for the team and supporters to have some fun. Everyone (just about the entire island) got to experience the late night excitement of Baz's Disco/Nightclub at the MNM house. Celebrations for Blake and Clintons birthdays also went down well, the only thing missing was some decent surf. Big thanks to all that committed to the event and a special thanks to Dave and Gail Morgan for their continued support in house and event judging duties. Congrats to North End Boardriders for taking out the Pairs event too! Great to see a northern beaches club take it out!!

Congratulations to the Grange brothers. Both Lochie & Josh Grange went one and one in their respective age groups at event 1 of the Wahu Grom Comp Series event last weekend.
The event was held in tricky beachbreak conditions at coffs Harbour (NSW). Lockie Grange was unstoppable in the under-15 boys final locking in a solid heat total of 16.50. The powerful natural footer had his fellow competitors chasing a combination of scores to usurp him from the top tier position. When the final hooter sounded Robbie Pugh finished in second, Banjo Hunt in third and Alex Hayes in fourth. Josh Grange surfed beyond his years in the under-11s boys division locking in a copious amount of high scores for critical moves. The Burleigh Heads (MNM Boardriders) surfer scored a heat total of 12.34 for two excellent waves. Good luck to Lochie and Josh in the remaining Wahu Grom comp events.
