WAHU GOLD COAST
Well done to all the MNM surfers who competed in last weeks Wahu Grom Comp. MNM surfers took centre stage at the event with Lockie & Josh Grangeand McCoy Hassett all starring in their respective finals. Josh and McCoy took 1st & 2nd in the Under 11 Boys while Lockie ended up 4th in the Under 15 boys. Other notable performers were Anchalee King and Isobella Hobbs who flew the flag proudly in the Under 15 and Under 13 girls events. Well done surfers, you are doing the club proud. AUSTRALIAN JUNIOR TITLES The Australian Junior State and School Surfing Titles wrapped up last Saturday in Nubeena Tasmania. Ellie Brooks surfed well during the event and was unlucky not to progress further than round 2. Ellie lost her round 2 heat by 0.7 to the eventual U/18 Girls champion. Never the less, Ellie had a great time and experience travelling with 20 other like minded young surfers to places they'd never heard of let alone surfed. Snow on the mountains and 14 degree water temperature did nothing but inspire her for another crack at the title next year. On a brighter note, QLD were victorious in taking out the overall championship. All MNM Junior surfers are encouraged to look forward to competing in next years State School and Junior Championships for a chance to join the team who will be venturing off to WA at the end of the year to contest the Australian Titles.
